I'm so adoring this lovely hat I got for Christmas, can't wait to pair it up with some outfit in the near future. I feel bit rusty when it comes to writing into the blog, I don't really know what to say. I don't really wanna get into all the negative thoughts going on, I'd rather just focus on the positive which is hard to write about. There are a lot of positive things to write, but for now I'll keep dreaming about going to visit Panda in Taiwan. A new destination for this Spring. It feels like I haven't gone anywhere in such a long time. Can't wait to travel again!

The Little Things
Oh the little things that make you happy. For example this awesome new clothing rack. I had some issues fitting my clothes back into my old wardrobe so I decided to get this so I can also enjoy all the pretty clothes everyday. I really hate moving but much worse is trying to fit all your things back into a room that you once lived in. Its impossible to fit the new with the old. I think I need to get rid of some stuff. Especially old clothes.

Ah Christmas!
Christmas, my favorite time of the year. When I get to decorate with candles and snowflakes. The smell of cookies and glögi fills the air. Christmas songs fill the air and one feels at peace. Soon I'll be going back home to spend Christmas with my family, but in a way I am sad. My own place is so nice and Christmassy at the same time. The only thing currently missing is snow and according to the news it won't be here for Christmas. Christmas just isn't the same without snow.. Maybe there might be a miracle in store for us?

Blue
I'm so excited for Christmas already! I've already started with some Christmas decor in my little place, can't wait to put up my Christmas tree. There is a tradition in Finland to have a little Christmas party at the end of November or something like that, and I've decided to have a very private party with Panda and put up my Christmas tree. I'm also a tad nervous about going to the dentist tomorrow but it needs to be done. Another thing that needs to be done is the dishes, its amazing how well I can avoid doing it.
For example one great way to avoid the dishes, oh I could post something today. Well lets see what happens. Oh how I would love to paint those yellow walls white.. I greatly dislike them. Alright time to do the dishes.Friday, June 28, 2013
The little things
Lily of the valley and Forget-me-not make such a lovely combination of flowers. Besides mosquitoes and all other forms of bugs, summer really is a great time of year. Even if the heat makes me feel uncomfortable as sometimes its hard for me to breathe but other than that its great. I hope Panda doesn't mind that I posted this cool phone case I got! So nice that you can get some with your own picture! It was a hard one to choose just one picture though. I'm pretty happy with mine, though its got a few bumps now from when Panda dropped it on the ground. Oh well good reason to get a new one :)
I got some rose lights for my sister as a birthday gift and the next day I just had to get myself some. Funny how it works out. Its also funny how all the time I get new ideas on how to decorate my home, its so frustrating to not to be able to carry out all of them. Maybe one day, I should be more patient. Patience indeed is a great virtue, too bad I can master it in only a few occasions.

95 years old
Happy 95th birthday my dear home Finland!! I always liked this day, so formal in the traditions here. Though in my neighborhood I saw very few take part in this glorious day which makes me really sad! Anyways everyone have a good good day!

Oh the Eternal Darkness!
I wish I had more to say than life is busy, but life just is busy. I'm still waiting for that amazing understanding of how to have enough time for everything I need and want to do. It seems I don't have any time for photography anymore, or during the day time. SO you guys just need to be satisfied with these dark dark pictures..
I was a bit pondering on what to wear for an upcoming christmas party, but I do think this is too light for the cold weather we already have. I think I still need to ponder about this question :)
I kinda noticed that you can't get a clear picture of what kind of dress this is so here's a picture of me wearing it during the summer in China. Ignore my ugly legs as I was bitten by a million mosquitoes. Alright, time to watch a movie before the weekend is again gone.

The Sea in Your Hands
It was a Sunday a few weeks back that I took a little stroll the the sea not far from my home. It would be weird if I didn't know how it looked and how to go there. Hahaha. Luckily it was a beautiful day with sunshine and strong winds. I will never again live this close to the sea, I just can't take the strong winds anymore or at least I will demand a glassed balcony.
To our surprise we found a beach. I can't wait for summer to try out the beach. Though I'm not that much of a beach person but I think my habits are changing as I'm getting older. I'm so in love with my pretty new curtains, though they are dark but something about them just made me love them.I've been having trouble getting up in the morning or more like staying awake, so my new love is these little Starbucks cold coffees. I hate coffee but I love Starbucks, probably since its more sugar than anything else. The oddest part about moving away from your childhood home is taking things with you to your new home but feeling weird about taking them and seeing them in the new place. I miss home and at the same time like where I live, its the bitter sweet symphony of life.

The Colors of the Night
Just trying to recover from this weekend. It was horrible, I had a migraine for the entire time. I had some good moments during Saturday for Panda's bday but mostly I was laying either in bed or on the couch with my migraine hat. Can you believe it, my mom got me a migraine hat??!! Its actually pretty useful and helps ease the pain. Its so nice to have my mom visit, she's like a walking grocery store hence my fridge is packed with food for once.
Here's the view from my balcony. We can see the McDonalds and the metro line, haha. I actually don't like the balcony much since its way too windy here, but thats what you get when you live so close to the ocean.I'm and odd bird that likes the fall time and the lack of sun. I just love having candles, and lots of them. Panda got some candle holders as his bday gift but I felt it was more for me than him. Hahahaha. Sorry if my post is so sucky today, my brain is still recovering from the weekend full migraine.
Last but not least, something I wore for the one event I attended with work. Its a really bad angle and all but its something. I'm really happy about the way my little home looks so I should post some pictures of it, now that I have some flowers here :)

Flickering Lights
Like yesterday I spoke about smart casual, well here is an example. It looks more casual than it really is, my position and scarf take away from it. Anyways you guys get the point. I must say I love this shirt, from the first moment I saw it to now. Finally I got some pictures of the new apartment out as well, I've been trying to decorate it a bit more to make it feel more like home. Like today I got a new pair of curtains and more candle stuff :)
Me and my family have this thing with fall time that we just go a bit crazy. We don't mind the darkness as its the perfect occasion to nock out all the pretty candles! Like today I'm surrounded by eleven candles as I write this post. Its romantic in its own way and they smell good too.
"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared"
The days feel so short and I wish I could just lay down and not move without a worry. Well actually my only worry is to waste the time, lol. The irony. I guess I'll head to sleep as others head to parties. This truly is the working life.

Gifts are Fun
Some gifts I got before my trip. My sister brought me this cool star from Barcelona. My friend brought me these cool pandas, neckless and hair bun from Barcelona or China :) Thanks to both!

Hyvää Itsenäisyyspäivää!
Its really strange to be away from home on independence day. Its a really important celebration for Finnish people and me included. Normal traditions include having the Finnish flag out, putting two candles on a window still and watching some tv shows: a traditional movie about the wars that led to our independence and a party held at the presidents residence. Its kinda like the Finnish oscars, people pay a lot of attention to what invited people are wearing. I won't be able to do these things but I can still celebrate in my mind. Remembering previous years.
Finland became independent in 1917 on the 6th of December. There is no official reason for the candles being on the window still, but it is said that one point when Finland was under Russian rule as an objection to it people would have two candles on their window still on certain days. There are quite a few traditions related to the independence day and the ones I mentioned are the most simple type. For more info check this out.
