2/18 Nail Challenge - Silver Zebra

I decided to challenge myself to try out all 18 shades from the ColorBonanza pack and this is already my second attempt. At first I wasn't sure what to do on the silver nails but then it hit me, Zebra! This time though I didn't use one of the Konad nail polishes and discovered why you should use them. Normal polish just doesn't work. It dries up too fast I think but I think it still looks quite good even though I used the wrong nail polish. Practice makes perfect

Päätin tosiaan haastaa itteni kokeilemaan jokaista 18 sävyä jota lahjaksi saamassani ColorBonanza paketissa on. Tokaa yritystä varten valikoin hopeisen lakan ja mietin pitkään että mitä sen kanssa, Zebra tietenkin! Huomasinpa sitten samalla minkä takia pitää käyttää Konadin omia tai muita leimailuun tarkoitettuja lakkoja. Normaalit lakat vaan kuivaa kai liian nopeasti mutta lopputulos silti miellytti ainakin omaa silmääni. Harjoitus tekee mestarin.

Looking at these pictures I'm reminded of something I used to think about when I was a kid. When I was smaller and had tiny smooth hands, I remember looking at my mothers and sisters hands and admiring how big they were. I wondered how long it would take for my hands to look like theirs and actually wondered would mine even look like that as would my perspective of my hands never change. Well now I can say my hands look old and dry so yes my perspective has changed. No longer are they the hands of a small kid or teenager. Oh boy do they look like they need some hand cream.

Kun katselen näitä kuvia mulle tulee mieleen ajatus joka mulla oli nuorempana. Varsinkin kun olin lapsi katselin äitini ja sisareni käsiä ja ihmettelin että koskakohan omat käteni näyttää yhtä isoilta ja aikuisilta kuin heidän. Omani kun oli niin pienet ja sileät. Tosinaan mietin myös että voisikohan olla että näkemykseni omista käsistäni ei varmaan koskaan muutu ja näen ne aina lapsen käsinä. No eiköhän selkeästi ne nykyään näytä vanhoilta ja kuivilta. Pitänee käydä käsirasva purkilla. 

1/18 Nail Challenge - Nude Gold

So I opened up my L.A. Colors ColorBonanza pack and rocked out a nude and white shade. The white nail polish wasn't really even so I thought I'd put one of the glittery nail polishes on, but the one I chose didn't look good.  In the end I chose to use one of my old favorites that never lets me down. This is what I ended up with. I had much longer nails but a few of them cracked, too much play I guess, so I had to make them all short. I really hope they grow back quickly. Oh yeah these L.A. Colors don't have any name on the bottle or pack so no idea what to call them.

Noniin avasin mun uuden L.A. Colors ColorBonanza paketin. Päätin ensimmäiseksi kokeilla nudea ja valkoista väriä. Valkoinen sävy oli ei oikein levittynyt kunnolla joten päätin pistää päälle yhden monesta glitter lakasta mitä tuli mukana mutta valitsemani sävy ei oikein näyttänyt hyvältä niin päätin korjata lakan mun luotto kultahile lakalla. Tulipa hassu lause, pahoittelut mun lukihäiriö taitaa paistaa läpi. Jouduin leikkamaan mun kynnet todella lyhyiksi kun pari lohkesi niin pahasti, toivottavasti saan taas kasvatettua mukavan pitkät kynnet. Niin ja näissä L.A. Colors lakoissa ei ole mitään nimeä pullossa tai pakkauksessa joten ei mitään hajua miksikä kutsua näitä.

Just realized I never posted what I finally did to the nails I posted about in the beginning of December. I found after some googling a cool thing as a nail stamp and had to immediately order a pack and try it out. I'm quite in love with it now, especially the snowflakes and loved the speedy delivery and extra gifts I got. Can't wait to try out some more cool designs later on. If I ever have time haha, I guess I should post why I'm so busy lately since I write about it all the time. I think perhaps the new year would be a good time to reveal it. Let's see.

Found this lovely nail polish that looks like snow and had to try it out. Also saw that there is such a color as Coca-Cola red, that would be so awesome for me. Too bad they were out of it. Don't you just hate it when the nail polish you wanted to use is so stuck that you can't open it. Then you spend the next hour to try to open it, just to find after a quick google search a two minute solution. The solution being so simple as just using a cup of hot water to submerse the nail polish bottle lid in the water and after two minutes it will open. Have to remember this for the next time but it just seems this red OPI color has gotten a tad too thick and doesn't spread evenly. Anyway this is only the first step of the nails I had planned. I'll be back with the finishing touches in a few days, when I have some more inspiration for writing a post. I hope.

The Pink Joy

So these were my last gel nails I got. Way too girly for my taste but quite a nice change. I really miss having gel nails, they were super easy but also right now I can't even recall how it felt to have these nails. Funny how the mind works. I feel like the past month just fly by but also it feels like a lifetime. Luckily I have had some time to enjoy the beautiful Fall weather and colors. I'm even happy that I got to enjoy some long missed coffee from Tim Hortons. Oh the little joys.

Hot Hot Summer Nails

I'm really gonna miss getting my nails done, but its time for a break. These were the second last ones I got, kinda hot orange inspired by summer. The pictures make it look kinda funny and also my hands look super old. I think I need to moisturize them more. I do kinda miss doing my nails myself, but its just so much nicer to have gel nails that last longer. Doing my nails myself always left me frustrated coz after hours of doing them, the next day one nail would chip. There is still one more post about gel nails coming so stay tuned.

The Blue French Manicure...

I guess I'm somewhat addicted to this style of gel nails, but its so easy and I guess somewhat like a french manicure just with colors :D You won't notice too quickly that they are growing since the bottom is the same color as your nail. I tend to have very fragile nails so I have had one some particular nails acrylic nails and it seems they stick to me super easily and I've been able to keep them for several weeks. Meaning I haven't had that many chipped nails anymore. The sheer pleasure that I get from having my nails look perfect for more than a day is unbelievable.  I can go now for about 3 weeks with perfect nails. Its just so surreal. I wish I could do this all the time, but alas the price. I think soon I will have to give up this simple indulgence of mine.

The one about Gel

So in Taiwan I decided for the first time to try out gel nails and I somewhat liked them. They really help keep my nails in good shape for a longer time. Normal nail polish chips easily and eventually all my nails are super short since they get chipped. My mom wanted me to try out her nail lady and so I went and got my nails painted with gel polish, which is cheaper than gel nails in Finland. The result was quite nice and gel polish also helps keep my nails in good condition longer. I just wish it was bit cheaper than it is here, so I could do it more often. So far I've done it twice in Finland thanks to my mom. The first time I got these minty nails with a cute bow tie.. My current nails are blue and on Monday I'll get the redone, but have no idea how yet. All suggestions are welcome :)

Pink Sand

Last weekend I went to a fair targeted to women. There were tons of cosmetic stuff and also wedding related booths which were nice to go through. I also pumped into an awesome offer to get 3 OPI nail polishes for only 20€. So of course I updated my nail polishes collection. The most pink one has hearts in them, can't wait to try it out. 

The more red polish ended up being more pink than I expected but I really love the stars in the mix! It also has this interesting sandpaper kind of texture, but it looks cool just like sand. Can't wait to try out some new nail ideas as soon as possible. I'm such a silly nail obsessed girl. 

What would a Summer be without a Wedding

I'm laying around, sick as can be. I wonder where my voice went. Maybe Panda took it with himself to China. Oh well, I guess I should just be quiet. Good thing typing doesn't require any vocal activity. I was at a wedding this summer, though it was completely odd for me. I used to Finnish weddings but this was not a Finnish wedding.. We had lunch and the part ended really early. But it was fun anyway and I got to wear my pretty minty lace dress and new silver heals!

Ombreish?

I was trying to do some ombre style nails, but they didn't really turn like I thought. Need to try out some lighter colors next time. Oh man, monday is coming up too soon and I have to return to work. I feel like I haven't done anything yet, well I still have a few days. HAHA.
