Sleep deprivation is a interesting thing. I never knew how much sleep affects you until now that for over 4 months I haven't slept more than 3 hours in a row. It comes with the job I guess but I do admit I wish I could sleep a little more in a row. Maybe after 20 years right? I can understand mom's that get upset and mad, lack of sleep really makes you on edge. Luckily in general I get at least two 3 hour gaps so I can manage.

Unen puute on kyllä mielenkiintoinen juttu. En koskaan oikein tajunnut kuinka paljon unen puute erityisesti vaikuttaa ihmiseen. Mieliala heittelee laidasta laitaan niin helposti. Onneksi kumminkin saan ainakin kaksi kertaa yössä kolmen tunnin putken niin sillä pärjää yllättävän hyvin. 

I made some 鸳鸯虾, good practice for Chinese New Year. Gonna try this year to make a proper Chinese dinner for Panda. We had a relatives Birthday a while ago and I decided to rock out my sequined top and a glittery cardigan. Like I said it feels wonderful to have sometimes a reason to dress up extra special when you are used to just wearing sweatpants and so on.

Christmas time, where did you go?

Oh my gosh, its almost 2015! I know most bloggers are already focusing on other things and looking forward to the New Year, but I'm not. Mostly because I spent the entire Christmas time in a fever and still I'm not fully recovered. Yet I want to post about it as Christmas time is my favorite time of the year. The first two pictures are of Christmas Eve, I tried to take a outfit pic but I was so tired and red nosed that I chose just to display my shirt that I paired with black jeans and a santa claus hat. Now that there are three little kids in our Christmas celebrations, the amount of gifts has increased greatly but it makes Christmas Eve so magical. Watching the pure joy of children is just priceless. Before Christmas there was this TV show about Christmas lights in the US and families competing for a price. Well me and my mom might have gotten carried away with our lights this year, but those candy cane lights are just too cute! Earlier this fall I made some cakes with fondant icing and since we still had some left we used it to decorate our gingerbread house. The snowflake shapes are so cute. I tried out making a fondant snowman to stand in front of the house but he seems to be a little crooked. Maybe just like me.

The Kimono of My Dreams

So here it is the Kimono I made for myself. My little DIY project turned out quite successful. I posted earlier some sneak peak pictures to this and finally you guys can see the end product. It was a fairly easy project but there were some OOOH I should have done that before this moments but still I'm very happy with it. The fabric is a tad thicker than what a hot summers day would require but its still very nice to throw one to avoid too much sun. I also saw a dress at Promod made from the exact same fabric! I'm also super glad I added the lace trim to it, it turned out so much better than what I originally thought.

Ok so I'll stop with the ranting on how wonderful it is and how proud I am of myself. I'm already planning new projects, which are more related to fixing old shirts I just don't wanna throw away. But in the meanwhile here is some nice barbecue pics and the awkwardly positioned me. Oh how I miss the sun from these pics, please come again!

The School Bus

It was the 4th of July that we went with some friends to a cool hamburger place here in L-town, which means I'm a super slow poster... Anyways we had some burgers and enjoyed some live entertainment. As it was still early July the jasmine bush in the yard was still blooming and the fragrance was so wonderful. Its just one of those things I will definitely miss during the winter. After having about 30 plus days of staggering heat, I'm pretty much ready for fall and some cooler weather. I have always been more of a winter person anyway. I don't complain about the cold and dark, I just love it. The dark gives me the perfect reason to have tons of candles and twinkle lights all around. Though there are things of summer I will miss; like swimming, strawberries and blueberries, jasmine flowers and all other flowers, the sun and so on... But feeling sweaty I will never miss, haha.

I cannot believe its already the last day of July! Time flies so fast and I have been such a lazy blogger. To be fair though I have been cleaning up my childhood closet and going through my old clothes, toys and so on. This task has taken me longer than I expected as I thought I would have done it in a week, its taken me months, but then again I'm easily distracted to other more interesting things. For example laying around in the sun, watching horror movies, playing with my iPad and celebrating my birthday. Also I have to say this latest heatwave has totally stripped me of any energy I might have, all I could do was just lay around in my air-conditioned room or in a lake. Oh and yes I was late at the swimming thing as well as I just went swimming last weekend during my birthday celebration. Better late than never, right? Cleaning out a closet sounds easy in theory but then when you start to reminisce on all the things passed and try to decide what memories and things are worth keeping around, well it takes time. I've finally sorted through the majority of clothing and packed them away neatly in size order for future generations to sort through. Now all I need to do is figure out all the other toys, books etc stuff.. I feel tired just writing about it.

So basically the point of this post is to display some nice pictures of my Birthday and promise to post more soon, as for once I have a million pictures ready for posting just all I need is to sit down and edit them and also come up with something clever to say. So I'll try to work on that as well as my closet cleaning project ASAP. The things that have gone by

Soo long time no see. Can't believe I haven't posted since February. I wonder where my time has gone, I was supposed to have a lot of free time but seems I've been too busy. I have been working, traveling to Taiwan and Levi and now trying to clean up my messy messy closet. Actually my place is a mess because I was sick for several days last week and haven't gotten around to cleaning up yet. I must get around to it soon, I hate being in a mess.

A lot of people like spring but I really don't. I don't like it when the snow melts and everything is grey but once the everything gets green and the flowers bloom thats when I go nuts. I love flowers, bright blue skies and warm weather.. Though I don't enjoy hot weather, it makes me uncomfortable. Haha I'm best suited for cool weather.. Also it doesn't help to be sick when there is a heatwave going on, its impossible to breathe. Now that I feel much better its gonna get colder, of course. Anyway here are several pictures of flowers, some food I made for my mother, some lovely purchases from my trip to Taiwan and an awesome gift from my Panda.. I'm totally obsessed with Victoria's Secret, it's pretty much the only place I get lingerie from, not to mention how nice their cosmetics are. 

I always have this problem that I have no idea what to write here. What kinds of things people wanna read, if they wanna read anything at all.. Also my train of thought keeps being distracted, so I bet most of my gibberish makes no sense to you guys reading this. Looking at the pictures of the food I made for my mom, is really making me hungry. I made pulled pork, salad with watermelon and raspberries, a strawberryspriteraspberry drink and a mango cheesecake. 

Also Panda made it easy for himself and got me an early Birthday and Christmas gift, which I totally love love love. Its such a lovely purple color and OMG the brand.. Panda is such a brand conscious person, but I have to say this is awesome. Also its made to fit my macbook, so what would be better. Finally a bag I can fit this enormous laptop in. My mom also wanted to make her life easy and bought e a matching wallet, though I asked for a grey one coz it can be used with all my other bags.

The days of summer: filled with flowers and bees, soap bubbles and yard games... all fun activities we wish could last forever. Cakes of strawberry and vegetables from your own garden, please say it won't end?? Too bad its already the end of July and most of August I'll be spending in an office. Oh the torment. Well at least there are still some days of summer left and my birthday to look forward to..

Oh the food

Time truly does fly, but not only when you are having fun. It seems to slip away when doing just about anything. Still it seems I can't get anything done that I want to and need to do. I really do need a vacation but work work is essential to paying rent. Good thing I can work also in June and don't have to yet stress about anything or everything.
