Remembrance of Canada

While I was looking through pictures in my phone I found some memorable moments from my exchange. For example my first bus ride from Toronto to Guelph when I fighter planes or what ever they are called. Quite impressive.
There were also some pictures from my first trip to Detroit before Halloween. Fall colors in the USA just scream Halloween to me, it also reminded me of this one tv movie I watched. It is such a different feel to what life is like here in Finland.

Also one of my first sights in Guelph was this beautiful sunset, at the time it was raining and I was on my way to get some food as the next day would be Labour Day and no shops would be open. Its kinda odd how in Canada the sun would set at a certain time and so early in the day. Well for a Finn, whom is used to either dark all day or light all day, the Canadian light was so strange.

The one thing I've been craving like crazy lately, TIM HORTONS. Their french vanilla cappuccino is to die for! It was my favorite, and it even beat Starbucks! Lets see if I can convince anyone from Canada to send me the powdered instant coffee version.
Pumpkin carving contest. There were some interesting pumpkins. Not much to say about this event, I ate a lot of free pizza and watched people carve pumpkins. Didn't try though, I had tried that once before and it doesn't feel so hot on your hands.
Oh yeah a poster me and another Finnish girl made to promote our school. I think my school has had only one exchange student from Canada so far. Anyway we tried to highlight all the cool things about Finland. Like Lapland, Northern Lights, Nokia, Angry Birds, Hockey players. We also included pictures of Lahti and our school(though our school has no official picture of it, very lame)

Detroit

I visited my sisters exchange parents in Detroit a few times, though I have very little picture material of those trips but heres some pictures. Also getting really frustrated with blogger and flickr, everywhere I run out of space for pictures. I don't want to pay for space, come on I'd rather not post any pictures then(well not true but kinda). Anyway good thing I like photoshoping so at least you can get many pics though in very small sizes. So as you can see we visited a cider mill where I got a candy apple, whoa that was sticky. They had a really nice creek in the area where we even saw a crab. The other thing that one should do if you are from Finland well that is to go see a NHL game and of course since we were in Detroit we went to see the Detroit Red Wings against Nashville Predators. Worst part was both teams had finnish players as in Detroit has Valtteri Filppula and Nashville has Pekka Rinne. We had a dilemma here. After the game we went to see the Hard Rock Café in the center, as our Hard Rock thing started with my sisters exchange parents, at least I think so :)

Niagara Falls vol 3

So I'm a bit late with these pictures but better late than never right? :) Anyway I made my way to Niagara Falls with my parents when they visited me in Canada, this time we were on the US side. Actually when we went to Buffalo we drove back through Niagara Falls.

Joo siis oon vähän myöhässä näiden kuvien kanssa, mut hei parempi myöhään ku ei milloinkaan. Tosiaan kolmatta kertaa Niagara Fallsilla mutta tälläpä kertaa USAn puolella. Eli kun Buffalosta ajeltiin takas Guelphiin ni poikettiin Niagaralla.

Good ending with finally finding Linkin Park stuff in a Hard Rock Cafe! My favorite band of all time, though I'm not that constant at liking music. Like me I change my mind quickly or I make up my min quickly, it also applies to music :)

Hyvä lopetus tällä postaukselle eli vihdoinkin törmäsin Linkin Parkiin Hard Rock Cafessa :) About time! Tosiaan Linkin Park on yks niitä bändejä johon en kyllästy vaikka välillä on erilaisia vaiheita musiikin suhteen. Mun mieli muuttuu aika nopeasti mut mä myös teen päätöksiä aika nopeasti, joten sama pätee musiikkiin.

Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a very merry christmas eve, which in Finland is the main celebration day. The evening when joulupukki(santa claus) comes and brings us our gifts :) Its so much fun to watch little kids as they get all excited about santa and the gifts. That pure joy is something to cherish. So as you can tell my evening was fun and full of toys and laughter. Also some very very good food. I'll post some pictures later on, once I get a chance to upload them onto my computer. For now enjoy some pics I took while I was in Detroit. Happy Holidays!
