Endless Passage

Some places you enter, might not have an end. It's like life, its and endless journey. For some it ends at death but for some it keeps on going and going.

Converse is Everywhere

It's funny that anywhere I go, I always take a picture of my shoes. Typically they are Converse, since other shoes of mine are not really good for photos, old and all. It's a tradition of mine.

Rain a essential part of life, water we can't live without it. Why do we then always complain when its raining?

Hope a Stairway Away?

Ever wonder where do they get their ideas for horror movies? Simple from normal old farm houses, just take a look at the basement and you will understand. Also how is it that salvation is always a path of darkness with a light at the end of the tunnel? Hope perhaps.

What Is Not Seen

Sometimes having nothing to do, results in coming up with something really fun to do. Light is more complex than we ever give it credit to. Also the endless creativity that the human mind is capable of, why do we underestimate it?

Abandoned Harbor

Night time is a magical time to be out and about taking pictures, especially the moment of twilight. You see the world in a different way, mostly without people. It makes you wonder, what would happen without us humans?

Purple Fence

Who said a fence needs to be made of wood or steel? Flowers work as well, though they won't keep the dog in or out. Yet it's much prettier than the other options.

The Ground You Walk Upon

Have you ever looked at the ground you walk upon? What is actually under your feet, what are you stepping on? Normally of course you would not step on flowers like above, but think about walking in the forest. Then you do step on quite a lot of things that you never even thought of.

End of Bright Nights

Summer has already come to an end for so many, schools have started and the fall time has begun. The bright nights when you might have thought it was day are gone, now the eternal night is upon us. Let's not get depressed with it but remember the lovely summer nights and the lovely twilight moments.

Eternal Sunshine

Don't you like those summer days, when you lay on the lawn and look up to the trees and from their mist you see the light of the sun. There might be a light breeze wind to keep you comfortable, not too hot. Oh how I will miss summer days.

Everlasting Bond

Mothers, what can you say about mothers? We all have one, we all say she is the best in the world and that her cooking is better than you mothers. Well it all is true, the bond between a child and a mother is so deep and loyal. Your mother will forgive you for anything and you would do anything for her. History is full of examples of this.

Simplicity

Lilacs, what can I say I am addicted. You can be sure that if ever I have a garden it will have plenty of lilac bushes in it. My garden will also be as private as possible so it can have a calm atmosphere to it.

Back to Basics

When I was young I had blond hair, but at some point in my life I wanted my hair to be darker or browner or red. Finally came the day that I got tired of always having to go to a hairdresser to get my hair colored so it didn't look funky. So I decided to do it myself, bleach my hair to make it closer to my natural color. Here is what I used and the outcome.

A Place so Familiar

People always have some kind of sentiment towards their home town/city.

Sea of Flowers

It is a heavenly sentiment of sleeping in a sea of flowers, though it's quite inconvenient when more closely considered. Flowers are usually planted on the ground, so sleeping in mud and with insects does not sounds like heaven. So for someone dreaming of sleeping in a see flowers, get yourself a comfy set of flower printed sheets for your bed.

The Curtain of Nature

Something about trees over water intrigue me. Imagine a river with plenty of trees that are arched over the water with branches that drape towards the water. How private it is, quite a nice place for a romantic boat ride.

Ideal of a Pink Rose

For me roses always have a very romantic feel. Receiving a rose to me has a meaning. Sure you get roses when there is some special occasion like graduation and such. What about getting a rose for no obvious reason at all? Well in my mind only someone you love will give you a rose, someone whom wants to be with you or someone that is with you. I don't really think it's normal to give a rose to a friend for no reason at all.. What do you think?

The Beautiful Time of Twilight

The sunniest of days comes to an end, the dark night then swallows the light. Though in between day and night there is a moment for twilight. The moment when the sky is illuminated with lights and colors, though it can be a desperate darkness yet it can be a marvelous scene of pure art.

Warmth of a Happy Soul

Vivid colors, just like the sun. Have you ever noticed that amongst us people there are ones that shine like the sun. When you are in their presence you feel warm and happy, just like after a long dark winter the first days of spring when the sun warms your face. These people carry with them a genuine happiness towards life, an endless optimistic view on life. Strive to be like them and you will be a happier you.

Blue and White Freedom

These flowers are interesting in the fact that if you want them in your yard it's quite hard to get them to grow, but then again they grow wildly almost anywhere. People can sometimes be like that as well, when you want to tie someone down they will fight you till the bitter end. They just want the right to decide themselves what their life is about. Freedom.

So I was in Tallinn with my family for some shopping and chillin' around. Here are some pics of the trip, especially the awesome hotel we were in. Sadly only for one night. 

An Ants Perspective

Ever wondered what's it like to be an ant? I have. Walking around beneath all the bigger animals, seeing the world as an endless see of grass. In an ants view the smallest plants to us are huge. It makes you think about the proportions of life. The problems in your life might be to another quite insignificant while to you the seem like the end of the world. Sometimes it's good to take a look at your life from a different angle.

I love hydrangeas. Let's be frank about it, I have a love for flowers in general but at the end of the day I'm still a girl. Who doesn't like some color in their lives?

In my life there are some adorable kids that are like little suns that light up the room. They are often my inspiration for my photos. Don't you miss those days when you were a kid and playing in the sandbox was totally normal. Oh those were the days.

Fuel for the Soul

Seems I'm having this kind of collection feel lately, though this post won't be showing off my entire collection but a selected portion of it. So what's today's collection? The fuel for the soul, books of course. I'm really passionate about reading I love to do it, though I never really seem to have enough time to do it. I've kinda always read books in both Finnish(native tongue) and in English, so my collection has both languages. So I'm going to show you parts of my collection and tell you more about my favorite books, I'm going to give each book it's own entry so there will be more about books soon.

The Fragrance of Summer Rain

I love lilacs, they bloom in June and have a strong fragrance. In the beginning of summer I always wait impatiently for the first lilacs to bloom. My fondest memories are of a gentle summer rain that enhances the fragrance of the lilacs which flows gently into my home. It is such a comforting odour with promises of summers lazy days.

Garden of Life and Death

When I take pictures my most loved inspiration is nature. Being a Finnish girl I've always been close to nature and of course it is a source of my inspiration.

Most people have gardens that are well cared for and you won't find a weed or a dead plant anywhere. Well in this garden I found some dead plants and they bring a lovely effect to the picture, reminding us all of the way life is. Life is hard, you live and you die. It is the beauty of the world we live in. The hard times make us see the beauty in our own lives, just hope you can cherish the things you have before you lose them and maybe you can even avoid losing them.

Exchange

Like I mentioned before I'm going on an exchange period next fall to Canada. The idea for the exchange came a long time ago from my sister taking that big step and flying over the Atlantic to USA for her exchange year. During Lukio(High School) for some reason I didn't find the courage to do the same and ever since I have regretted it. Well then I started studying International Business and found that I could do a half year exchange or more like I have to. After a few ups and downs I finally settled on the idea of going to Canada and luckily I got it. So where exactly am I going?

The place I'm going to is Guelph and I will be studying at the University of Guelph.

Being a photography crazy girl, I'm going to try to post a picture taken by me everyday. Now you might think this is hard, well with my extensive collection of pictures it won't be hard at all. Since new pictures are taken practically daily.

The cherry tree picture above was taken in May 2009. I have always loved cherry trees, they have an innocent beauty in them. I hope you enjoy it as well.

So these are a few of my passions, I'm sure the rest will come up while I keep posting. Maybe I should tell a little about myself. I am an international business student from Finland, besides my studies I also find time to dance or you might say I find time for school not dance. Dance is for me not a hobby but a lifestyle. The first time I picked up a camera I was hooked and ever since I haven't put it down.

What about the future? Soon I will be in China for a over a week and after that I will be making a huge journey across the Atlantic to do an exchange term in Canada! So lot's of interesting pictures coming soon.
