Wedding Look

Its June already?? Are you kidding me, haha. So much has happened yet it feels like time stands still and then suddenly you snap out of it and realize how much time has passed. Have to say my stress levels are suddenly higher, the approaching wedding makes me nervous.

Anyway I came quickly to post these pics to show off my wedding make up, well not the real one but a trial round. I thought I wanted something really natural but in the end I wanted something more dramatic. Its your wedding day, at least one day you can look different than normal. I'm really happy with this though when Panda saw it he laughed at me. Men really don't know how to react, luckily he said that I look good just if he hadn't seen it before the wedding he might have thought he went to the wrong wedding. :D

Now I just can't wait for the actual day, and well have to figure out what to do with my hair. Especially those nasty little ones. More to come soon ;)

Shades of White

Happy Midsummer! So wow where have the days gone? Time just speeds on by and I don't even notice. In a way I don't mind but also I just want to enjoy all the little things. In a way I have had plenty of time to read blogs and intake inspiration but have limited time to actually to create. It really makes me sad but I guess it's just about time management. It's the battle between the me I used to be and the me I am today. I'm still learning and hopefully I can keep learning all my life.

This has been an interesting post to write, I have been writing it during three different times so what I want to tell has changed several times. We changed our car and I had my bachelorette party, but now all I can think about is midsummer and sauna.

Anyway we had to change our car to a bigger one. It was much more emotional than I was ready for, even though I have been preparing for this for a year.. I had eight great years with my little car so its no wonder, but I suspect that if I had kept it longer it would have broken down on me. Its not really realistic to fit into a two door car with three people. So now I have a shiny white car in the yard, I hate white in cars but I guess I will just learn to love it. I hadn't even realized how old my car was until I saw all the new cool tech in this newest version. I'm just in aww over it, and I think the color is even growing on me. There are also posts about the wedding coming up, hopefully before the actual wedding day.. Yaay it's so close, finally!

I'm so in love with this lace shirt from Bik Bok but it seems to make me look so big, white has this effect on me. Also notice my absolutely clean hair, haha I wanted to take these pics coz I had my super nice wedding trial makeup on but didn't have time to wash my hair before. I also can't believe how much tiny new hair I have coming out in the front, some people say this is some kind of breastfeeding effect? Dunno but its bothering me, can't wear my hair on the side anymore :D 

Light purple dreams

You know that feeling when you notice that your favorite pair of jeans is torn? Sure if the tear is for example on the knee it doesn't really matter but the crotch! That is the worst. No actually the worst is to find out BOTH of your favorite jeans are torn in the crotch. Luckily I've been able to find some instructions on how to fix it discreetly so I have yet another thing on my to do list. I think my to do list keeps growing more than I can take things out of it. haha.

So in the meanwhile I had to figure out something else to wear, I did consider buying a new pair of blue jeans but inspired by a few bloggers and some pinterest pins I went in search of colorful jeans. I found some from Bik Bok and had trouble choosing a color so I got a dark purple and coral. I haven't yet matched the coral pants with anything. I have been waiting from warmer weather. The dark puprle ones were easier to incorporate during this weather and this is how I looked. I have to say I'm quite satisfied with these pants, BUT the material seems to gather all kinds of dirt escpesially hair! My hair is going through a stage of falling out so I'm picking out the hairs all the time. My light brown or dark blond hairs are quite visible in the dark purple pants. Though in the first pics of it they look more burgundy than purple. 

I guess this is that "hey take a pic of my accessories" pic, haha. Not to mention my uneven fingernails. Haha this is as real as it gets. 

Looking back at these pictures I have to wonder what is up with my hair? It was a windy day but still I really should book an appointment to a hairdresser. Sure I have been trying to grow them longer but my hair is so thin, though I have plenty but it just won't grow evenly through out the length. I have no idea what is up with that. Maybe I need some kind of supplements or maybe I don't drink enough water, etc. I only wash my hair twice a week at most and use a lot of oil, so I doubt its the products I use. Anyway I have been thinking about getting extensions for the wedding, but we will see what happens. 

Cause I'm happy...

So I have to say my blog year hasn't quite started off how I wanted, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. I would say it's all just an adjustment period for the new way my life is though even this keeps changing as the little one grows. Everyday is a new day, new challenge, new routine. I have to say you don't really appreciate the life you had until it's gone. Like I have no idea how I could have wasted so much time in the past. I can get things done now in such a short nap time, yet then again somedays I'm just so tired I can barely stand not to mention accomplish anything. Most days there is no nap time, so much for that me time then, I guess any mother can relate to me in this. It's not like I don't have plenty of picture material for the blog, it's just that I don't have time to edit and write. My head is bursting with ideas not just for pictures, but also for DIY projects like sewing a dress or knitting a blanket etc.. Also all the wedding stuff I should do and post, not to mention I should work out more. Time is just so limited. Sounding a tad stressed, aren't I? I'm just praying for a little more time per day, aren't we all?

All in all I wouldn't change a thing, well maybe a little bit more sleep? Haha. Yet I'm much happier now than ever before, even in my darkest hour I find comfort in the tiny little hands of my little tiger though I should remember to file down those claws. Haha. Anyway life should get easier along the way, just have to keep it togehter.. In the mean while here's some birds flying around my head :)

Sunny day outing

Just a quick look into my everyday life, well not everyday but when I venture out for a walk. Good exercise especially with my little load of drinks. Trying to get into shape for the wedding!

#AUSSIFYMYBODY

So a while back as I was reading some of the blogs I read daily I saw that Aussie had some kind of Instagram contest. Normally I read blog posts very randomly not really in time but this time I saw the post right away and of course tried to participate. And tadaa yesterday I got my Aussie body wash in the mail! Yaay can't wait to try it out, its fragrance is so nice. Though a quick scan with my favorite app revealed it to contain some parabens, which is such a common preservative in cosmetics but I would be more worried if it was a lotion rather than a body wash.

Noniin jonkun aikaan sitten kun lueskelin blogeja näin että Aussiella oli jonkunmoinen Instagram kisa. Yleensä luen blogeja pienellä viiveellä joten en yleensä mihinkään osallistu mutta kun tällä kertaa satuin lukemaan sen juuri oikealla hetkellä päätin yrittää kisailla. Hyvä tulos olikin kun tälläinen mukava suihkugeeli napsahti eilen postissa mulle. Enpä malta kokeilla tuotetta sillä se tuoksuu aivan ihanalta. Tosin mun lemppari app paljasti että tämä sisältää parabeneja mutta ne kun tuntuu olevan niin yleinen säilöntäaine että en oikein tiedä miten asennointua asian suhteen. Tosin ehkä olisikin enemmän huolissani jos kyseessä olisi voide suihkugeelin sijaan. 

CosmEthics - the lazy woman's lifesaver!

As a very tired but happy mom I have had some concerns about my skin especially now that one of the key aspects of good skin is taken away. Sleep is very important to general health and as our skin is our biggest organ it reacts to changes in lifestyle. This is why I have started to take more interested in making sure I do my best in other aspects of skin care while the amount of sleep I get is low. So besides eating healthy, drinking plenty of water and exercising I have started to pay more attention to the products I use on my skin. As a result I started reading blogs focused on cosmetics like these: Karkkipäivä, Kosmetiikkatesti and Saara. Any one that knows me, knows that once I get an idea in my head I obsess on it for a while. So my mother started noticing articles in newspapers for me to check and as a result I found the most wonderful app.

Erittäin väsyneenä mutta onnelisena äitinä olen ruvennut vähän miettimään ihoani, erityisesti kun ihon hyvinnvoinnin kannalta tärkeimpiä asioita jää nyt vähälle huomiolle eli unta ei tule tarpeeksi. Uni kuten terveellinen ruokavalia, veden juonti ja liikunta ovat kaikista tärkeimpiä osia terveyden ja ihon hyvinnvoinnin kannalta. Iho kun on kaikista suurin elimemme. Tämän takia olenkin alkanut kiinnittämään enemmän huomiota ihon hoito tuotteisiin jottei iho menisi ihan surkeaan kuntoon nyt. No tietenkin äitinä joka välillä jumahtaa paikoilleen imetyksen takia niin olen kerennyt hyvin lueskella erilaisia blogeja kosmetiikasta kuten tossa englannin kielisessä osuudessa jo linkkasin. Kannattaa käydä kattomassa ne on mun ihannlemppareita. Tietty olen sitten hirveästi puhunut asiasta kotosalla oman äitini kanssa ja hän sitten yhtenä päivänä kiikutti minulle etlarin eteen jossa oli juttua aivan mahtavasta uudesta yrityksestä ja heidän puhelin aplikaatiosta.

CosmEthics is an app that allows consumers to scan products they have or are considering on buying and see what ingredients they have. INCI meaning the ingredient list is common knowledge to most cosmetics enthusiast but to a regular old consumer like me, I had no idea about them and still don't but with the help of this app I can make sure I'm using safe products. Sure an INCI will not tell you how much of each ingredient there is and how it works for the particular product but you get a general view of it. The best part is if you already know specific ingredients that are bad for you you can make a personal alert to warn you about those. Like for me I've noticed that I do not like the feel of alcohol in face care products.

CosmEthics sovelluksen periaatteena on että kuluttja voi scannata tuotteen jota he käyttävät tai aikovat ostaa nähdäkseen mitä aineksia siinä on käytetty. INCI on tuttu sana monelle kosmetiikka intoilijalle mutta tavalliselle tallaajalle se on hepreaa. Tämän sovelluksen avulla tällänen taviskin voi nopeasti katsoa onko tuote turvallinen ja myös tarkemmin katsottuna lukea eri aineksista mitä ne tarkalleen ovat. INCI ei tietenkään kerro koko totuutta ja miten eri aineet reagoivat toisiinsa mutta ainakin voit vältellä tiettyjä aineksia joista tiedät olevan haittaa. 


Parasta on että voit tehdä omia hälytyksiä jotka varoittavat sinulle itsellesi huonoksi todettuja aineksia. Esimerkiksi itselleni alkoholi ei oikein sovi vaikka pintakuivan herkän sekaihon omaankin. 

Sure its still a new app and they don't have all the products in the whole world but you can always send in new products that they will check out for you. I added a few example pics of how the app works and this is not to diss or promote any product in particular. 

Tietty tämä sovellus on vielä nuori joten kaikkia maailman tuotteita ei täältä löydy mutta aina on mahdollista ottaa kuvat omista tuotteista ja lähettää heille jotta he voivat mahdollisesti lisätä sen heidän sovellukseensa. Lisäsin tähän mukaan muutaman esimerkin miten sovellus toimii eikä tarkoituksena ole dissata tai mainostaa mitään tiettyä tuotetta. 

I'm really in love with this app, and you guys can imagine I spent quite a while in my bathroom scanning my products to see were they safe. Turned out quite a few of them had ingredients that got a toxin alert which of course led me to google Parabens, which seems to be a controversial topic. Though I'm sad most my Victoria's Secret lotions have these I still decided its better to be safe than sorry. Therefore I'm just gonna use the lotions on my feet and not too often.

Mä olen ihan myyty tähän sovellukseen ja jumahdin aluksi kylppäriin tutkimaan mun tuotteita. Harmillisesti osottautui että monessa tuotteessa oli jotain ei niin turvallista, tosin määrästähän en tiedä ja EUn alueella pitoisuuksien pitäisi olla hyvin vähäisiä mutta silti parempi olla vainoharhanen kuin sitten kärsiä myöhemmin. Victoria's Secretin voiteet osottauti yheksi näistä mutta päätin että käytänpä sitten voiteet vaikka jalkoihin ja ei niin usein. Ne sisälsivät Parabeneja jotka voivat aiheuttaa rintasyöpää mutta googlettelu jälkeen selvisi että tämäkin on eritätin ristiriitainen aihe.. 

2/18 Nail Challenge - Silver Zebra

I decided to challenge myself to try out all 18 shades from the ColorBonanza pack and this is already my second attempt. At first I wasn't sure what to do on the silver nails but then it hit me, Zebra! This time though I didn't use one of the Konad nail polishes and discovered why you should use them. Normal polish just doesn't work. It dries up too fast I think but I think it still looks quite good even though I used the wrong nail polish. Practice makes perfect

Päätin tosiaan haastaa itteni kokeilemaan jokaista 18 sävyä jota lahjaksi saamassani ColorBonanza paketissa on. Tokaa yritystä varten valikoin hopeisen lakan ja mietin pitkään että mitä sen kanssa, Zebra tietenkin! Huomasinpa sitten samalla minkä takia pitää käyttää Konadin omia tai muita leimailuun tarkoitettuja lakkoja. Normaalit lakat vaan kuivaa kai liian nopeasti mutta lopputulos silti miellytti ainakin omaa silmääni. Harjoitus tekee mestarin.

Looking at these pictures I'm reminded of something I used to think about when I was a kid. When I was smaller and had tiny smooth hands, I remember looking at my mothers and sisters hands and admiring how big they were. I wondered how long it would take for my hands to look like theirs and actually wondered would mine even look like that as would my perspective of my hands never change. Well now I can say my hands look old and dry so yes my perspective has changed. No longer are they the hands of a small kid or teenager. Oh boy do they look like they need some hand cream.

Kun katselen näitä kuvia mulle tulee mieleen ajatus joka mulla oli nuorempana. Varsinkin kun olin lapsi katselin äitini ja sisareni käsiä ja ihmettelin että koskakohan omat käteni näyttää yhtä isoilta ja aikuisilta kuin heidän. Omani kun oli niin pienet ja sileät. Tosinaan mietin myös että voisikohan olla että näkemykseni omista käsistäni ei varmaan koskaan muutu ja näen ne aina lapsen käsinä. No eiköhän selkeästi ne nykyään näytä vanhoilta ja kuivilta. Pitänee käydä käsirasva purkilla. 

Shine bright like a Diamond

Just a quick post about this wonderful sunset I captured while out grocery shopping. I'd say its one of the little joys of life, especially in Finnish winter to capture the sun. I at least enjoy it greatly. Hope you guys enjoy it too. 

Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream....

Sleep deprivation is a interesting thing. I never knew how much sleep affects you until now that for over 4 months I haven't slept more than 3 hours in a row. It comes with the job I guess but I do admit I wish I could sleep a little more in a row. Maybe after 20 years right? I can understand mom's that get upset and mad, lack of sleep really makes you on edge. Luckily in general I get at least two 3 hour gaps so I can manage.

Unen puute on kyllä mielenkiintoinen juttu. En koskaan oikein tajunnut kuinka paljon unen puute erityisesti vaikuttaa ihmiseen. Mieliala heittelee laidasta laitaan niin helposti. Onneksi kumminkin saan ainakin kaksi kertaa yössä kolmen tunnin putken niin sillä pärjää yllättävän hyvin. 

I made some 鸳鸯虾, good practice for Chinese New Year. Gonna try this year to make a proper Chinese dinner for Panda. We had a relatives Birthday a while ago and I decided to rock out my sequined top and a glittery cardigan. Like I said it feels wonderful to have sometimes a reason to dress up extra special when you are used to just wearing sweatpants and so on.

Kyllä sitä heti huomaa kuinka kaipaa tälläytymistä kun pääsee lähtemään sukulaisten synttäreille niin iskee heti niskaan mahdollisimman paljon kimalteita. ;)
